They should know better!

Carsonified recently hired Mike Kus to replace Elliot Jay Stocks as their web designer. The work I’ve seen of his so far has been pretty good, however I was disappointed to see the evident slackness on their new micro site for Future of Web Apps 2008. On first sight it’s an attractive design in the style of FOWA, but as I scroll down the page i start to notice some glitches.
OK, I’m not a part of the uber-cool Web Dev Mac Massive - I run a Windows machine, but I do use the designers’ browser of choice, Firefox (version 3).
My mouse tells me there’s something clickable in the top left corner, yet nothing visual in the sense of a button or image, until you check on Safari!

As I scroll down I see some sponsors’ buttons floating around with a broken background – that surely can’t be right, let’s check Safari. Ah, yes - That’s better. The logos should be contained within the white torn paper background.

Then finally, on a slightly more pedantic note, is the lack of consistency in the paddings on the boxes towards the bottom of the page.

These observations do hint at the lack of cross browser and cross platform testing, something you’d expect Carsonified to be vigorous in. If we operated on a four day week and were this slack we would be kissing goodbye to that Friday off!
Come on boys and girls, we look up to you! Please don’t let us down.

Hey Sean, thanks for pointing those issues out.
We’ll do better
Mike.
